Bush's Indecisions
Starved for Political News
CNN.COM has published what they call "bush's reversals". Its a list of the decisions he changed his mind about concering 9/11. Who gives a fuck about how he changes his mind? This is a complicated issue and no doubt he is ruled by public opinion as his decisions become known he gauges the reaction. Its election time.
What is cnn's reason for putting together this one-sided, bullshit article? Anyone can find a "slant" in a political story they don't like about their favorite politician, but normally I see CNN as neutral and balanced as you can get. Each individual writer has his opinions of course, but can't cnn exercise a little editing choices here? Besides, their message gets a little muddled -
The president might have a problem with announcing decisions before things are final or he might be a little sensitive to public opinion right now. But actually I see this a good sign. Too many times we've been at the mercy of these fools in power who feel once they've made a decision they can't go back on it.
Of course once the election is over and he feels no need to worry about public opinion and only about how the history books are written, who knows if this little sign of open-mindedness will still be apparent.
I doubt it will be.
[EDIT: the new york times has a much better-written and succinct article about bush's decision changes. Read it if you can.]
